THE LAKES OF BLACKCAP BASIN - A PHOTOESSAY

Blackcap Basin lies on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. It is bordered on the north by the 12,000 ft. LeConte Divide which stretches southeastward and becomes the White Divide on the basin's eastern edge. To the south lies Kettle Ridge and Crown Basin.

I visited this area in July of 1992 and again, more extensively, in August of 2001. I hope that you enjoy this brief view into this picturesque area of the High Sierras.
