The Department of Theatre, Film, and Dance provides a quality educational experience that is energized by inquiry, discovery, collaboration, and application. Through curriculum and production, our program integrates the three disciplines of theatre, film, and dance.

Our students actively explore these three areas investigating the common ground among them, and discovering how knowledge in each discipline deepens understanding and creative possibilities in the others. As boundaries between peoples, traditions, and art forms become increasingly malleable, the Department of Theatre, Film and Dance is invigorated by exchange with other cultures, and other academic and artistic disciplines. Through this breadth of experience and perspective, we aim to develop citizen artists who understand that theatre, film, and dance can offer profound insights into the human condition.
Our students are prepared to engage in professional careers, life-long learning, and personal lives with passion, joy, empathy, and a sense of responsibility for the individual, the global community, and our environment.
