Three equally special Yurok weavers born around 1900 have now passed to the other side. Ella Johnson is the classic weaver of balance and harmony with large simple patterns of great dignity (fig. 31). The best Klamath area weaver of great renown is Lena McCovey (fig. 32). She was not a noted weaver in 1929 but would emerge as a master at weaving large caps of varied designs with a perfection of pattern and evenness of weave.
