The mission of the Humboldt State University Natural History
Museum, through its collections, exhibits, and programs, is to
inspire in North Coast residents and visitors of all ages an understanding
and appreciation of the dynamic natural world and to provide a learning
laboratory for Humboldt State University students.
HSU Natural History Museum Closed to the Public
HSU closed the Museum on September 1, 2009 due to
budgetary constraints.

Field Trips are Available Through Spring 2010
Thanks to a partnership with Redwood Science Project
and Humboldt County Office of Education the HSU Natural History Museum
is again offering science-standard based, teacher-led
and docent-led museum programs for grades
K - 4 and up through April 2010.

Nature Seminar with Joseph Cornell - April 30 and May 1 and 2
World renowned author and naturalist Joseph Cornell
returns to Humboldt for a weekend seminar for parents, teachers, future
teachers and outdoor educators. The activities presented will enhance
one’s approach to nature education. Joseph teaches his Flow Learning™
method and leads participants on their own journeys of discovery in the
primordial forests of Redwood National and State Parks. Go to Redwood
