Quartz monzonite, like granite, consists of quartz, K-feldspar, and plagioclase, with minor ferromagnesian minerals. It is a rather abundant rock type in many orogenic areas. In the photo above are multiply twinned plagiocase, bright white perthite, and clear quartz, with minor biotite.
