Chroogomphus tomentosus

Chroogomphus tomentosus can be recognized by its ochraceous (orange brown) fruiting bodies (pileus, stipe, gills, pileus flesh, and stipe flesh) and its tomentose pileal surface. Typically the fruiting body is quite solid in texture. Chroogomphus vinicolor differs by it wine-red colors and C. rutilus differs by its smaller fruiting bodies and light reddish-brown fruiting bodies.
