Hypholoma: purple-brown
spores; typically growing from wood or woody debris. Species in
this genus usually have a fibrllose veil. Stature type: Naucorioid,
Cortinarioid, or Collbybioid. Most often the habit is clustered
if on wood and solitary if on woody debris. Some species grow
in Sphagnum (peat) bogs. Hypholoma fasiculare,
H. capnoides.
