Entoloma is recognized by its flesh-brown spores and, for Botany 360, its tricholomatoid stature; the species which have sinuate gills are easily recognized belonging to the genus Entoloma. Unfortunately (or fortunately), many species are Naucorioid; however these are not required in Botany 360. Entoloma bloxami (=E. madidum) is common in the coastal conifer forests, including coast Redwood forests which are mixed (have other species of conifers); it has a bluish-grey pileus, white gills when young, and a stipe which has bluish-grey tinges.
