Catathelasma: white spores; typically with a double annulus; stature: Armillarioid. In northern California, one species, C. ventricosa, is found in coastal forests. The fruiting bodies of this fungus are often buried up to the pileus, are very hard and tough, last for up to 6-7 weeks in nature, and have a grey veil which is found on the pileus and on the outer surface of the annulus.
