VI. PASS/FAIL Technique Test

Each student will take a 5-15 minute technique test given during the last week of the course. The test is devised so that the laboratory procedures mastered throughout the course will be demonstrated to the instructor while he is watching. During the course of the test, the errors will be divided into major ones (= 3 pts) and minor ones (1 pt). You have to pass this test to be given a grade in the course; if you fail the test twice, you will receive a F as a grade. Passing is based on 4 or less points on the test.

VII. COLLECTION (maximum points available: 100; can be substituted for 1-100 pt examination)

Requirements: except for water molds, the collections have to correctly identified to genus; all cultures must be pure, I. e. with no contaminants

For Zygomycetes, you do not get credit for collecting and culturing the same genus.
