Police Seek To Retrace Deceased Student’s Route Early Sunday A.M.![]() On Sunday morning Nghiep Huynh went jogging on HSU’s Granite Ave about 7:00 AM on Sunday, 07/27/08, and returned with unexplained injuries at about 8:30 AM. He did not or could not describe what happened, and no one knows where he had been jogging.
UPD needs witnesses to help Investigators found evidence of a bicycle accident on the steep road leading down from Huynh’s Creekview residence hall, but UPD needs witnesses to help determine exactly what might have happened there and whether or not Huynh could have been injured in association with a bicycle accident on this steep hill. Huynh was reported to regularly jog in and around the HSU area for as long as 45-60 minutes, sometimes into Northtown or Downtown Arcata. No one knows what route Huynh took on Sunday 07/27/08, and the possibility exists that he was injured somewhere else and walked or was given a ride home.
Investigators need witnesses Huynh lost consciousness on Sunday and died on Wednesday without ever providing a statement. Anyone who saw Huynh jogging Sunday morning, or who has information about a possible bike accident on the Creekview Hill, or who has other information, is urged to contact HSU PD at 707-826-5555 or at hsupd@humboldt.edu. |
