Leucite KAl(SiO3)2

Optical Properties:

Pseudoisometric; colorless; euhedral crystals; very weak birefringence; polysynthetic twins in several directions.

Occurrence:

Restricted to silica undersaturated lavas and tuffs, almost exclusively as phenocrysts.
